Project and programme management roles

At the Office for National Statistics (ONS), our project and programme management teams support the important programmes that produce our statistics.

Individuals and organisations across the country use our work to make important decisions. By employing the best people to manage our projects, we can offer our users the best possible service.

Project and programme management at the ONS

From portfolio analysts and resource managers to project support officers and benefits managers, our teams make sure the ONS delivers statistics that benefit everyone.

You could be co-ordinating the delivery of our latest survey or managing one of our many innovative projects.

You can find out more about the Government Project Delivery Profession on the Gov.uk website.

“The culture of the ONS is definitely warm, welcoming and friendly. Which makes it a nice place to work.”

Megan – Head of Planning and Portfolio Management

Learning and development in project and programme management

When you join the ONS, we want you to constantly develop your practical and academic skills in project and programme management.

To help you do this, you can set time aside for both formal training and professional qualifications. Or you can join our Communities of Practice and special interest groups, where people in similar roles share the latest innovations, knowledge and learning opportunities.

The ONS has supported me with my project delivery qualifications and puts a real emphasis on developing its people.

Abi – Project Manager
